Our work and student learning would not be possible without the support and partnership of our community partners.
CEL Staff work closely with students to choose their service sites based upon their passions, goals, interests and availability. Currently, the Shriver Center has community partnerships with organizations that focus on various issue areas that serve diverse populations. These include, but are not limited to, animal welfare, education, the environment, food and housing access, healthcare and mental health.
Partner Chart
Embedded below is an interactive database of the Community Engaged Learning team’s community partners. ‘
Included with every partner is:
- a brief description of their mission and work;
- what transportation is offered via UMBC to the partner;
- the population served; what training is required;
- what semesters/seasons their work is active (some partners are only operating 1 season/semester, or run a limited program in the summer/spring),
- and which CEL team member to contact for more information.
Partner Map
Embedded below is an interactive google map of the CEL team’s community partners.
Please note – the exact location of some partners, like Reading Partners and 4H, are listed as their headquarters, due to having multiple program locations across the Baltimore area. Other partners, like Best Buddies, have the location listed as UMBC to respect the privacy of residents.
Partner with the CEL Team!
